Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of ScanningMenu, operated by Cortazzo Consulting ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use ScanningMenu.

1. What ScanningMenu is

ScanningMenu reads restaurant menus and food you log and provides nutrition estimates, fit scores, and ordering suggestions, plus an optional food journal. It is a general wellness tool.

Not medical or nutritional advice. All nutrition values and fit scores are estimates, not lab-measured or individualized health advice. Allergen flags are advisory and may be incomplete — always confirm allergens and dietary needs directly with the restaurant before ordering. Don't rely on ScanningMenu for medical decisions.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age in your region) to use ScanningMenu. Keep your login secure; you're responsible for activity under your account. Provide accurate information.

3. Plans, trials & billing

ScanningMenu offers a free tier and paid subscriptions, billed through Stripe.
New paid subscriptions may include a 7-day free trial — cancel before it ends and you won't be charged.
Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Manage subscription.
Scan credits and promo/comp codes are non-transferable, have no cash value, and may be limited or revoked for misuse.
Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.

4. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service. You agree not to: break the law; infringe others' rights; upload harmful, abusive, or unlawful content; scrape, reverse-engineer, or overload the service; or attempt to bypass security, rate limits, or access controls.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of content you submit (photos, journal entries, reviews). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display it to operate and improve the service for you. You're responsible for what you submit.

6. Restaurant accounts

If you claim a restaurant, you represent that you're authorized to manage it. You're responsible for the accuracy of your menu and any allergen information you publish, which is shown as restaurant-provided and is not independently verified by us.

7. Third-party services

ScanningMenu uses third-party providers (e.g., Supabase, Anthropic, Stripe, Mapbox, Google) and may show third-party content such as live restaurant details and reviews. Those services have their own terms, and we aren't responsible for third-party content.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that estimates are accurate, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that it fits a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cortazzo Consulting will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on estimates, fit scores, or allergen information. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the service or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using ScanningMenu and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the service.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice. Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Cortazzo Consulting operates, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
